This just might be one of the best ways to enjoy Dworshak Dam, which is the highest straight-axis concrete dam in the Western Hemisphere! The race offers runners and walkers two unique choices, you can choose either a 5K (3.1 miles) run/walk or a 3K (1.86 miles) run/walk experience. During the race athletes walk/run along the Dworshak Reservoir and the Clearwater River and over the Dworshak Dam to finish at the Visitors Center where you can enjoy your hard earned rest, snacks and refreshment.

Orofino Farmer's Market

The Orofino Farmers Market started in 2009, under the leadership of the University of Idaho extension service based in Clearwater County. Since then, this popular new community tradition has grown, and is now in it’s sixth year with more vendors and Market browsers in attendance.

This season the market will keep it’s usual hours, from 3:00 PM until 6:00 PM every Tuesday, at Orofino City Park, through the summer.  Opening day of the 2014 season is June 10, with the last market slated tentatively for October 14.

Early markets usual center more around crafts, and packaged and prepared foods, such as granola snacks, jams and jellies, and baked goods — including a very wide variety of homemade breads. Plants for yard, garden and nursery are also common.

Depending on spring weather conditions, produce also starts appearing slowly over the summer, and by August is the dominant feature of the market with a wide variety of fruit, berry, and vegetable offerings.
